It’s been a long, long road . . .

All that remained of the old farmhouse was four walls and two chimneys in a serious state of disrepair. But the location was breathtaking.  Much credit must be given to the owner for wanting to save this house.

We used organic paints, timber frame windows, and a slate roof along with modern efficient energy sources; solar water heating, an oil boiler with intelligent zoning controls. The ground floors of the old house have a fully zoned underfloor heating system.  Although these modern elements were added we preserved the integrity of the original structure.
